With gyms closed, it seems like the whole world is stocking up on home gym equipment, and the one thing I just couldn’t do without are… DUMBBELLS.
I know they are tough to find these days! I will always advocate for having a set (or 2) of weights at home but let’s get creative while we have to!
Here’s a big ole’ list of things you can use as weights:
- Wine Bottles
- Bags!! – Suitcases, Duffle Bags, Backpacks – Fill ‘em up!
- Paint cans
- Canned Food
- Text Books
- Baskets – fill em’ up!
- Coolers – fill em’ up!
- Laundry Detergent – works just like a kettlebell!
- Bag of Pet Food
- Box of La Croix (or pop if that’s your jam)
Not feeling the random objects?
Alternatively, if you’d like to invest in some fitness equipment that can work just like dumbbells, I’d go for bands! I have this set for when I travel and there are very few exercises that they don’t work for!
To put it simply, make it work! Whether your lifting Tide or a brand new dumbbell, you’ll get the same training in.
