Looking for something to do on a weekend morning? Love fresh fruits and veggies and flowers? The Raleigh farmers market is the place to be! Growing up, I could not understand why my parents loved to walk through these markets but now, I totally get it. This little tunnel of a market is a perfect escape from the urban landscape surrounding it.
I’ve told you before that I am just about world’s pickiest eater but even I can find a fresh snack that I can’t resist taking home in this market. Fruits and vegetables are, of course, everywhere but there’s even more than that! There is an amazing german bakery with shelves of pastries and an amazing cookie shop serving deserts bigger than my face. There’s even a few places to grab a quick meal. If you’re really looking for something to eat, stop by the Raleigh farmers market restaurant for one of the best country breakfast’s in town! The biscuits, pancakes and grits are absolutely to die for! That sentence alone makes my starch addiction obvious…
We took a trip to the Raleigh Farmer’s Market on Sunday morning on a mission to find a few plants that I won’t kill. I have a history of whatever they call the opposite of a green thumb. Black thumb? If anyone knows what my terrible plant care-taking thumb should be called, let me know please! I love walking around looking at the plants but always walk away knowing that they could have a much better (and longer) life with someone else!
But anyways, the new cactus trend seems too good to be true for my skills! I found the perfect selection to choose from and took at least 20 minutes to narrow it down to 3 but I did! Stay tuned to see if I can keep these little guys alive!
